The essential and light base, both fixed and swivel, can be customised with different metal or walnut canaletto and ash wood finishes. To complete the experience, matching footstools are also available. Exploring the talent and legacy of Antonio Citterio: design and architecture in the service of functionality and beauty
Antonio Citterio is an internationally renowned designer and architect, known for his extraordinary ability to create functional works of art that have become true symbols of contemporary design. Born in Meda in 1950, Citterio founded the Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners (ACPV) studio in 1999 together with his colleague Patricia Viel. Thanks to their collaboration, the BIM (Building Information Modelling) design method was first introduced in Italy and is now widely used worldwide. Citterio was also a lecturer at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, Switzerland, where he shared his experience with young architectural talents. In 2008, he received the prestigious title of 'Royal Designer for Industry' from the Royal Society of the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce in London, which honours design excellence worldwide. Citterio's creativity and craftsmanship are reflected in his designs, many of which are exhibited in important museum collections, such as that of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. His work is a point of reference for many young designers who are inspired by his ability to combine aesthetics and functionality in a unique way, creating highly successful contemporary design objects.
